The Head Start Executive Director and staff, Board of Directors and Policy Council share the responsibility of managing the Head Start program to meet HSYC's By-laws and federal program requirements.

This partnership helps to ensure that there is a system of checks and balances in place and that the important voices of experts in accounting, finance, and early education are balanced with the equally important voices of parents who have children in the program. 

The current members of the HSYC Board are people in the community who feel strongly that providing children with an early childhood education program is the only responsible action to take. Volunteering many hours, these people help guide and direct our program to benefit our community's neediest children.

These members are involved in raising money for HSYC. Every year there is a fun event known as "Flapjacks & Fiddles" where the community gathers to enjoy a great breakfast and the children enjoy the music, clowns, street-art, and crafts.  Board member's children helped create Holiday Cards which are offered for sale every year. The S.H.I.P. campaign raises money for building centers and creating playgrounds for Head Start centers.

Board members are very proud of their contributions to Head Start of Yamhill County.
